The meeting of the cousins

Will made the trip to California to meet his cousin Dennie. Here are some pictures of their first meeting. While they sat there Will said "He's so cute! Dennie, I can't wait until you get bigger. You are going to be a great cousin."

They love each other so much already. It is really so sweet.

Dennie's Due Date

Today was supposed to be Dennie's original due date. It is funny that instead of celebrating his due date, we celebrate him being 7 weeks old! He is healthy, strong, and beautiful and I can't wait to see him on Wednesday!

Getting Bigger

We went to the doctor today and we were very surprised to find out that Dennie now weighs 7lbs 7 oz!! He has gained 3 pounds since he was born and 2 of those were in the last 2 weeks. Nice job kid!

Dennie and I are enjoying a lovely evening together while his parents are out- I'll try not to corrupt him too much!

This little man loves his sleep, but I managed to snag a picture during a brief awake window (I'll try to get a better one if he wakes up again). I can't believe how much he looks like his cousin Will here!

Kangaroo Care

Since we were in the hospital with Dennie, we were encouraged to do kangaroo care with him. It is a philosophy which involves dressing the baby in a diaper and placing him on your bare chest. It has been found to be beneficial to all babies and especially premies to sleep more soundly, maintain heart and breathing rates, and to gain weight faster. We continue to have kangaroo time at home with Dennie whenever we can.

Pumpkin Pie !

Some of you might know of Stephanie's love for anything pumpkin. From the pumpkin smoothie Mark got for her during labour, the pumpkin scone at Starbucks a few mornings later, the countless pumpkin muffins her sister bakes for her, to the chocolate pumpkin pralines her other sister brought.... She brought home the ultimate pumpkin, her little Pumpkin Pie !
