Florida in February

Dennie got to go to Florida with Nonna and spend 5 days with Auntie Va Va & Simon. He was such a big boy going on the airplane and being away from Mom & Dad. Seems like we had a harder time being away from him than he did from us. He had many fun adventures...







Then Jackson & Mommy joined the fun. It was so sweet to see the boys reunite. Jacksy had really missed his big brother. The adventures continued with trips the park which included rock throwing, bike riding, & more!

Beach time! We went to Sanibel Island which was beautiful and spent the day playing, shoveling, and exploring...

Story Time

Visit from the Arndts!

Just before Christmas we were lucky enough to have some dear friends come visit us from California. Karen, Vinny, Noah, and Mason came to visit for a few days before heading off to a family reunion in Champaign. It was wonderful to spend time with them and see the boys play together. We love you guys!

Starting the New Year!

Happy 2012!
We started the New Year with a visit from Grandma and Grandpa. The boys had so much fun playing, cooking, and laughing with them! It is so sweet to watch them build these special relationships.




Then last week we took the boys to an indoor waterpark for a night. It was a fun getaway but the boys are on the move so much I couldn't get any pictures of them in the water...just these of them lounging and playing in the arcade.







First big snow! We came back from our trip to the first big snow of the season. Dennie & Daddy got right to work building this snowman.

A blessed year

As 2011 comes to an end I want to post an update of the latest and greatest things the boys are saying & doing!

They have both changed a lot in the last couple months.

Since turning 3 Dennie has really become a big boy! He sleeps in a big boy bed, is using the potty all the time, and constantly surprising us with his growing vocabulary. Tonight for example he said "I'm sorry mommy. I'm not going to do it again." it seems he's figured out it's a good thing to say after doing something he shouldn't have :)
A few weeks ago when I picked him up from school I said "how was your day cupcake?" and he replied "I'm not a cupcake, I'm a dragon."

Jackson's sweet personality continues to shine. His brother is his #1 fan and he is doing his best to keep up with him. He climbs on tables, jumps off couches, and basically acts like a little monkey all day long. His vocabulary is blowing us away as he is repeating everything. He is already very expressive about his opinions and let's us know very clearly what he wants and doesn't. Some of his latest, "No want it," "I did it," "hug," "pees" (for please), "mine," "o me (hold me),"this one." One of the funniest things he's been saying was a big surprise. Dennie was throwing a little tantrum with yelling and crying, etc. and Jackson yelled "Top it!" (for Stop it!) It was hilarious. It eased the tension and made us all laugh :)

We are truly blessed. This has been an amazing year and these two precious boys are the greatest gifts!
